About

Peter Monette is an Ottawa based solo singer-songwriter. His music is inspired by his life experiences; sometimes taking the perspective of the Other, and sometimes from his own life experience. Inspired by songwriters like John Denver, Gordon Lightfoot and Harry Chapin, Monette's music is a folksy experience. His musical journey is representative of someone who tried and tried to learn music but was not successful until a friend told him about Justin Sandercoe. Monette followed the basic guitar course on Justin Guitar and soon began to find his music voice and inspiration to write music. Now several years later and Monette has over 20 original songs. The themes of his music range from his own experience in for example Algonquin Park, to touching tributes to his family members like his Dad and Mom. His love songs centre around his one true love and his children and friends. His two Christmas songs explore the real meaning of the festive season.
