About
Heliara is an acclaimed Canadian singer-songwriter and independent pop-rock artist based in Ottawa, Ontario. Known for her emotionally raw and relatable storytelling, she seamlessly blends pop-rock energy with indie-folk warmth to explore love, motherhood, resilience, and personal growth. In 2025, her resilience anthem "Cloak of Fear" earned a semi-finalist spot in the national Music in Motion competition for unsigned indie talent. On May 8, 2026, she released her 6-track EP Everything's a Love Song, an exploration of love in all its forms. Its second track, "I Know that you Love me," advanced to the semi-finals in the prestigious 2025 International Songwriting Competition (ISC). This highly anticipated release was celebrated with a sold-out release party on May 15, 2026, at LIVE! on Elgin, where she performed a high-vibrancy set backed by her full rock band. Heliara’s music is an honest reflection of who she is: a unique mix of sweet, edgy, zany, powerful, and vulnerable. Her authenticity connects deeply with audiences. In her single "Self-Love," her candid lyricism about the realities of motherhood resonates powerfully with listeners, which she considers a massive honour. Driven by a desire to capture universal truths, Heliara writes to give a voice to everyday struggles, anxieties, and flaws. Inspired by the beautiful madness of parenting and long-term relationships, she reminds listeners that life does not have to be perfect to be beautiful.
