I have been writing songs and poems since I was 14 years old. Throughout my life, I have kept most of my creations to myself, playing some of my songs to family and friends. During the lockdown of 2020, I purchased some home recording equipment and made the decision to share some of my recordings on my Instagram and Facebook pages. Early in 2026, I performed at some local events to small live audiences. I was the first time in 30 years that I had played live. Having played in several bands before that, performing on my own was a daunting task after so much time had passed but It was a lot of fun and to get feedback from those in attendance inspired me to keep writing, creating and searching for more opportunities to play my songs live. One thing that has changed in my approach to song writing over the years is to write, re-write and re-write and work on the song structure and on the melodies. My previous approach was to keep the songs as they were first created, mostly during a stream of consciousness where the words just flowed out of me and on to the page. I felt like I could not re-write anything for fear of not respecting where the ideas and words came from, which most of the time, I had no idea where or how they arrived to me. Now, I show more respect to the process and I try to respect the ideas and give them more time to grow.
