About

Well I've been writing my entire life, from about 16 on it seems. Been playing guitar for about 20 years, but chasing it more aggressively the last three or so. You see, about four years ago I had an emergency kidney stone operation on Christmas Eve. I know, right? Unfortunately what followed was extremely problematic for my mental health. I was suffering from anaesthetic amnesia, about 0.1% of people are affected. While impossible to understand how it works, life goes on. There’s a much larger story involved but that started the movement. More recently I was involved in a workplace accident where I was knocked unconscious. Currently still in rehabilitation for ongoing concussion after-effects. Circumstances had pushed my hand. I started playing guitar more, and the more I wrote, the more I was able to express my anger, confusion, loneliness, but I found I could also release the hope, the love and the humanity. My songs aren’t flashy, they aren’t mind-blowing, but they are real, and if I can take my state of mental health from that time and connect with another person feeling what I was, then maybe they won’t feel as alone. That’s what my music is about.
